On November 13th the KDK foundation was honored to have Can Do Caines come to the longbranch saloon and eatery. They brought a service dog with and gave us a wonderful presentation. The dog that came was still in training as it takes 2 1/2 years to complete there training.

Can Do Caines relies on volunteers to help with training. The dog that came is at this time with a volunteer living here in Farmington.

KDK Foundation persented Can Do Caines with the next instalment payment of $5,000.00 dollars towards dog training. The estimated coast of training is $45,000.00 dollars, We have pledged to pay for the training of at least one dog in the next 2 1/2 years.

Hannah was diagnosed with bilateral moderate to severe hearing loss at the age of 3. Now an adult, wife, and mother, Hannah admits that managing her hearing loss at night, especially when her husband is working overnight shifts, can be frightening. “Once I had a baby, it was more than my life that I was responsible for,” she shares. The fear of missing her infant son Jack’s cries led her to seek out a solution—and that’s when she discovered Can Do Canines.

In late 2022, Hannah was matched with Alayna, a 3-year-old black Lab. Alayna alerts Hannah to sounds like the doorbell, phone, fire alarm, alarm clock, and most importantly, Jack’s crying. “The first time she did a night alert for me, that was such a special moment,” Hannah recalls. “I’m safe with her. I know my family is safe with her.”
